BJP Yuva Morcha Organizes Mass Scooty Rally in Hyderabad for Women's Reservation Bill
In a vibrant display of support for the Women's Reservation Bill, the Bharatiya Janata Party's Yuva Morcha orchestrated a significant scooty rally across Hyderabad on Wednesday. The event, which commenced at Narayanguda and advanced towards the state assembly, drew the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of women activists and supporters.
Rally Highlights and Political Statements
The rally featured members from the BJP Telangana Mahila Morcha alongside numerous youth activists, all united in their advocacy for gender parity in legislative bodies. BJP state president N Ramchander Rao graced the occasion as the chief guest, delivering a pointed address on the historical and contemporary challenges surrounding the bill.
Ramchander Rao emphasized that the issue of providing 33% reservation for women in legislatures has languished unresolved for three decades. He attributed past inaction to the United Progressive Alliance government, alleging that the Congress and its allies succumbed to pressure and failed to advance the legislation.
"Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central government achieved a landmark by passing the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' Bill in Parliament through consensus-building across party lines," Rao stated. "Now, the Congress party is allegedly conspiring to create impediments to the bill's implementation, undermining this historic progress."
Criticism of Congress and State Leadership
Rao further escalated his critique by targeting Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of divisive politics. He claimed that Reddy is attempting to fragment the nation by leveraging religion, caste, and regional identities for political gain.
"The correspondence issued by the chief minister unequivocally reveals that the Congress stands in opposition to women's reservation," Rao asserted, reinforcing the BJP's narrative that the opposition party is obstructing gender equality initiatives.
The rally not only served as a platform for political discourse but also symbolized a grassroots mobilization effort, with participants riding scooties through the city streets to amplify their message.
