Party president Nitin Nabin highlighted that India continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience and sustained growth, asserting that the joke is on Gandhi.

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi had recently claimed that an economic tsunami was set to hit India, accusing the government of mismanaging the economy. The BJP's response came after the release of GDP data showing strong growth.
Nitin Nabin's Remarks
Taking to social media platform X, Nabin stated, 'These encouraging figures underscore India's march towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.' He further emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the economy continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience and sustained growth despite global uncertainties.
Prime Minister Modi's Reaction
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also weighed in, saying, 'India's growth momentum remains strong.' His remarks were seen as a direct rebuttal to the opposition's criticism of the government's economic management.
BJP Leaders Join the Fray
Several other BJP leaders joined the chorus. MP Sambit Patra shared on X, 'Naysayers predicted slowdown, panic and collapse. India answered with 7.7% GDP growth in FY 2025-26.' Meanwhile, party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla described the GDP figures as a 'tight virtual slap on the face of LoP.'
The strong GDP numbers have provided the BJP with ammunition to counter opposition narratives about economic distress, reinforcing the government's claim of robust economic management.
