BJP Turns CAA Help Centre into Strongroom in Bongaon

In Bongaon, what appears to be a CAA help centre at the Thakurbari premises from the outside has been temporarily converted into a BJP strongroom. Young BJP workers from Varanasi are calling Gaighata voters, urging them to vote for BJP candidate Subrata Thakur.

Calling Campaign Details

For more than nine hours a day, these youths keep calling Matuas, attempting to counter the anger surrounding the SIR (Standard Indian Return) and deletion of names from voter lists. While highlighting the development works carried out by Thakur in the last five years, they have to peddle hope. After all, only 100 Gaighata Matuas have received CAA certificates, though thousands had applied for it.

Caller's Perspective

Far away from home, a caller holed up in the first floor of a Matua Mahasangha building said: "The calls have good response. We hope that this converts into votes."
