BJP women leaders in Kurukshetra held a protest on Tuesday against the opposition parties, accusing them of spreading misinformation and obstructing developmental projects. The protest, led by senior BJP leader and former minister Kavita Jain, saw a large turnout of women party workers who gathered at the local market square.
Allegations Against Opposition
The women leaders alleged that the opposition parties were making baseless allegations against the state government to divert attention from their own failures. They claimed that the opposition was trying to create a negative atmosphere ahead of the upcoming elections.
Support for Government Schemes
During the protest, the women highlighted various welfare schemes launched by the central and state governments, including the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative and the Ujjwala Yojana. They said these schemes have significantly improved the lives of women in the state.
The protesters carried placards and shouted slogans in support of the BJP-led government. They also demanded strict action against those spreading false information about the government's performance.
Police Presence
The protest remained peaceful, with a heavy police presence to manage the crowd. No untoward incident was reported. The women leaders later submitted a memorandum to the district administration, urging them to take note of the opposition's alleged misinformation campaign.
This protest is part of a series of similar demonstrations planned by the BJP in various districts to counter the opposition's narrative ahead of the elections.
