Centre committed to Andhra development: Joshi

Vijayawada: Union consumer affairs minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday reaffirmed the central government's commitment to the development of Andhra Pradesh, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is extending full support to the state, particularly for the development of Amaravati.

During a daylong visit to Vijayawada, Joshi participated in a Swachh Bharat programme at Vajpayee Park, where he joined local leaders in cleaning the park premises. BJP Andhra Pradesh president PVN Madhav and MLA Sujana Chowdary accompanied him and also planted saplings as part of a green initiative. The Union minister later interacted with morning walkers and members of the public.

India's Economic Transformation

Addressing the media, Joshi highlighted India's economic transformation since 2014. He said the country emerged from a period of economic weakness to become one of the world's fastest-growing major economies under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He noted significant achievements, including rapid railway electrification and an eightfold increase in electronics manufacturing.

Support for Andhra Pradesh

Emphasising the Centre's support for Andhra Pradesh, Joshi revealed that nearly ₹11,000 crore was sanctioned through HUDCO for Amaravati's development. He also pointed to central assistance for a dedicated railway line connecting the capital city and said efforts were underway to strengthen road and rail connectivity to Amaravati.

Coordination Among State Leaders

The Union minister praised the coordination between chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, and BJP state president PVN Madhav, describing their partnership as crucial for the state's progress.
