Mandya: Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday stated that the Union government is giving equal importance to children's health and nutrition while pursuing developmental initiatives across the country.
Speaking after inaugurating a new chassis-mounted sweeping vehicle provided to the Mandya City Municipal Council under the 15th Finance Commission grant at the City Municipal Council premises on Sunday, Kumaraswamy said a special programme was organised at the district hospital to address health and nutritional issues among children. Emphasising the need to ensure the well-being of future generations, he said the government was implementing initiatives aimed at improving children's nutrition and healthcare facilities.
Kumaraswamy, who represents the Mandya Lok Sabha segment, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has introduced numerous welfare schemes to ensure that the benefits of development reach economically weaker sections of society. He said efforts were being made to provide essential services and improve the quality of life of poor and marginalised families.
Highlighting the vision of a developed nation, he said development programmes were being implemented with the objective of realising the dream of a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. The government, he added, is committed to achieving balanced growth by strengthening infrastructure, sanitation, healthcare and other essential sectors.
Mandya MLA Ravikumar Ganiga, Deputy Commissioner Kumara, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer KR Nandini, Superintendent of Police VJ Shobharani and City Municipal Council Commissioner Pampashree were also present.
