Chandigarh Congress Protests Fuel Price Hike

Chandigarh: Continuing its protest against rising fuel prices, the Chandigarh Congress held a demonstration in Sector 32 on Sunday against the Centre. Women workers and youth activists participated in the protest, raising slogans against inflation.

Leaders Address the Gathering

Addressing the gathering, Chandigarh Congress president HS Lucky said that soaring prices have burdened the poor, middle class, labourers, employees, youth, and homemakers. He cited reports highlighting rising costs of food items, milk, LPG, transport, and daily essentials, which have disrupted household budgets.

Lucky added that repeated hikes in petrol and diesel have pushed up prices across commodities. “The situation has become so severe that people now hesitate to go to markets, with prices rising almost daily,” he said.
