Chennai: Water supply will be suspended in several areas of Tondiarpet from Monday evening until the following night due to major pipeline interconnection work being carried out by Metrowater. The maintenance activity will be undertaken at the junction of Kathivakkam High Road and JJ Nagar A1 Street in Tondiarpet Zone.
Water Suspension Details
Water distribution through pipelines in various localities under zone 4 (Tondiarpet) will be halted for a period of 27 hours. The disruption will commence at 5 pm on June 8 and continue until 8 pm on June 9. Residents in the affected areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance to meet their daily needs.

The following neighborhoods will experience the water supply suspension:
- Ezhil Nagar
- MGR Nagar
- Bharathi Nagar
- Kamarajar Nagar
- Ambedkar Nagar
Additionally, Metrowater has stated that the Patel Nagar water distribution station will remain non-operational during the maintenance period.
Alternative Arrangements
To mitigate the inconvenience, residents can book tanker water through the board's 'Dial for Water' service available on the Metrowater website. This service allows residents to request water supply via tankers during the disruption period.
