CM Yogi inaugurates Rs 955.4 crore projects in Azamgarh

Varanasi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects valued at Rs 955.4 crore in Azamgarh district. The event took place at the Maharaja Suheldev State University campus in Azamgarh.

CM Highlights Azamgarh's Heritage and Neglect

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that Azamgarh is a district known for the penance of sages and saints. He described it as the land of freedom fighters with a rich culture, heritage of handicrafts, and agriculture. However, he noted that its identity was affected by the negligence of previous governments.

He remarked that until 2017, Azamgarh was deprived of several important dimensions of development. There was no university, no Purvanchal Expressway, and no airport facilities. Local art and craft lacked a proper platform. Today, with the efforts of the double-engine government, Azamgarh's saree, Mubarakpur's black pottery, Hariharpur's musical tradition, and the work of farmers and artisans have gained a new identity.

Boost to Local Industries

He said that after the formation of the BJP and NDA governments in the state and at the Centre, local industries and handicrafts received a boost, leading to increased income for artisans and traders. "The government is working for the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, and women without discrimination. A campaign is underway to provide housing, toilets, electricity, and security to every poor person," said the Chief Minister.

Inspiration from Maharaja Suheldev

Referring to the valor of Maharaja Suheldev, Yogi said India needs to draw inspiration from its glorious heritage and national heroes. He added that the new India will not accept symbols of slavery, and work is ongoing to establish the country's cultural heritage.

Targeting Opposition

Targeting opposition parties, the Chief Minister stated that parties which ruled the state for years could not carry out development or create employment and security. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country and the state are progressing rapidly, and India is establishing a new identity on the world stage.

Appeal for Support

Appealing to the public to support the double-engine government to maintain the pace of development, he said work will continue to take Azamgarh to new heights in education, industry, tourism, culture, and employment.
