A devastating road accident in Coimbatore has left the community in mourning as the death toll rose to five on Wednesday. The tragic incident, which occurred on the bustling Mettupalayam Road, has claimed the lives of two bright students from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), among other victims.
The Fateful Collision
The tragedy unfolded when a speeding car carrying six young individuals collided with a stationary lorry near Vellalore. The impact of the crash was so severe that it immediately claimed four lives, while two others were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Victims Identified
Among the deceased are two TNAU students whose promising futures were cut short:
- M Naveen Kumar (22), a second-year BSc Agriculture student
- P Pranav (21), also pursuing BSc Agriculture
The other victims include M Kabilan (23), S Dhanush (23), and M Karthick (24), who tragically succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, bringing the total death count to five.
