Court Dismisses ED Case Against Gandhis, MP Slams BJP

In a significant development, Congress Member of Parliament from Telangana, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, stated on Tuesday that the Delhi Rouse Avenue court's decision to dismiss a fresh Enforcement Directorate complaint against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case has delivered a powerful setback to the Bharatiya Janata Party government's politics of vendetta.

MP Accuses BJP of Misusing Central Agencies

Reddy alleged that the ED filed the case with the singular aim of targeting the top Congress leadership. He asserted that this episode has once again exposed how the ruling BJP is exploiting independent institutions such as the ED, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and even the Election Commission of India, turning them into political weapons against the opposition.

The systematic misuse of central investigative agencies to cripple opposition leadership poses a grave danger to Indian democracy, the MP warned. He added that while false cases are engineered to sow public distrust, the political conspiracy behind them is now becoming evident to all.

Hyderabad MP Champions Urban Infrastructure Development

Later on Tuesday, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy shifted focus to developmental issues during a standing committee meeting of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The meeting reviewed the action taken on recommendations concerning the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).

The Congress leader emphasized the critical and urgent need to launch regional rapid transit corridors in major cities like Hyderabad. He argued that such projects are essential to enhance urban livability and secure sustainable growth for the future.

An efficient regional transit network is indispensable for serving the rapidly expanding population across the eight districts connected to Hyderabad, Reddy stated. He highlighted that improved connectivity would foster planned urbanization and generate substantial employment opportunities.

Key Telangana Projects Awaiting Centre's Nod

During the discussions, the MP also brought up several crucial infrastructure proposals for Telangana that are currently pending approval with the central government. These include the Regional Ring Road, the Regional Ring Rail, and the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro.

Reddy urged the Centre to grant early clearances for these projects to alleviate traffic congestion in Hyderabad and promote balanced regional development across the state.
