Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made a special visit to the NCC Republic Day Camp 2026 on Thursday. The event took place at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment. This visit coincided with the celebration of Indian Army Day.
Guard of Honour and Cultural Displays
Upon arrival, the Chief Minister received a Guard of Honour. She then watched a march-past by the cadets. Brass band performances and cultural presentations followed, all organized by the NCC participants.
Interactions and Inspections
Gupta spent time talking with cadets who had come from various parts of India. She assured them of ongoing support to strengthen NCC facilities in Delhi. The Chief Minister also toured the 'Flag Area'. Here, cadets from 17 NCC directorates had set up exhibitions. These displays focused on national values, civic responsibility, and nation-building efforts.
Address to the Cadets
In her speech, Gupta highlighted the long-standing role of the National Cadet Corps. She stated that for decades, the NCC has been crucial in teaching discipline, unity, duty, and patriotism to young people. She noted that the camp brings together cadets from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This gathering, she said, truly reflects the spirit of national integration and the 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat' ideal.
Exploring NCC History and Initiatives
The Chief Minister visited the 'Hall of Fame' to learn about the NCC's history, training structure, and achievements. She reviewed exhibitions on the Yuva Aapda Mitra initiative and drone training programs. During her interactions, she encouraged the cadets to keep contributing to national service and to be responsible citizens.
Praise and Future Vision
Gupta praised the discipline and enthusiasm shown by the cadets. She emphasized that the NCC's training system prepares youth for leadership roles, disaster management, and community service. Referring to the NCC motto of 'Unity and Discipline', she described it as the foundation for fostering patriotism, unity in diversity, and constitutional values among the younger generation.
She declared, "Today's NCC cadets are tomorrow's national heroes. They will serve the country in various fields."
Government Commitment
Reiterating the Delhi government's commitment, the Chief Minister assured that steps will be taken to improve training facilities, infrastructure, and resources for NCC centers in Delhi. This includes addressing training-related and land-related issues to support the corps better.

The event was attended by NCC Director General Lieutenant General Virendra Vats. Senior NCC officers and cadets from different regions of the country were also present, making it a significant gathering.
