Delhi Metro Announces Blue Line Service Regulation for Essential Track Maintenance
In a significant operational announcement, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has confirmed that train services on the Blue Line will be regulated during the early morning hours this Sunday. This temporary adjustment is necessary to facilitate scheduled track maintenance work between the Indraprastha and Supreme Court metro stations, ensuring long-term safety and operational efficiency.
Detailed Schedule Changes for Sunday Morning Services
The maintenance work will specifically impact Line 3 and Line 4 of the Blue Line network. Passengers should note the following revised first train departure timings from key stations:
- The first train from Vaishali towards Dwarka Sector-21 will depart at 6:05 AM.
- The first train from Laxmi Nagar towards Dwarka Sector-21 will depart at 6:21 AM.
- The first train from Yamuna Bank towards Dwarka Sector-21 will depart at 5:50 AM.
Unchanged Services on Other Routes
Importantly, DMRC officials have clarified that there will be no changes to the first train timings on several other critical routes. The schedule remains unaffected for:
- Trains from Dwarka to Noida Electronic City.
- Trains from Dwarka Sector-21 towards Noida.
- Trains from Vaishali on routes not heading towards Dwarka Sector-21.
Restoration of Normal Operations
The track maintenance activities are planned to conclude promptly. Normal train services on the entire Blue Line network are scheduled to be fully restored across both lines after 6:30 AM on Sunday. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, considering these temporary early-morning adjustments, and to allow for potential minor delays during the maintenance window.
This proactive maintenance underscores DMRC's commitment to infrastructure upkeep and passenger safety, minimizing disruption by scheduling the work during low-traffic hours. Regular updates on service status can be obtained through official DMRC channels.
