Dhanbad Police Inducts 45 GPS-Equipped Patrolling Bikes

Dhanbad: In a significant move to bolster policing and enhance emergency response capabilities, the district administration flagged off 45 new high-tech patrolling bikes for the Dhanbad police on Wednesday. The ceremony took place at the police district headquarters, marking a key step in modernizing the local police force.

Distribution and Features

The newly inducted motorcycles have been distributed among various police stations across the district. Their primary purpose is to intensify patrolling activities and ensure quicker response times during emergencies. Each bike is equipped with modern amenities including sirens, blinkers, and GPS tracking systems. These features allow the bikes to be monitored directly from the police control room, enabling real-time coordination and deployment.

Officials emphasized that the move is aimed at ensuring faster police mobility, particularly in areas where four-wheelers face difficulty reaching quickly. Narrow lanes, congested neighborhoods, and remote locations are expected to benefit from the enhanced two-wheeler fleet.

Expansion of Fleet

According to district officials, the Dhanbad police had previously received additional bikes for police stations and City Hawks units. With the latest addition, the total number of patrolling bikes available to the Dhanbad police has now reached nearly 250. This expansion reflects the administration's commitment to improving law enforcement infrastructure.

SSP Prabhat Kumar stated, “This initiative will further strengthen policing and help police personnel reach crime spots swiftly. The GPS tracking and communication systems will ensure better coordination and faster response to incidents.”

The deployment of these high-tech bikes is expected to significantly reduce response times and enhance the overall effectiveness of police patrols in Dhanbad.
