Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling for the government to release a white paper on examination leaks and the actions taken against those responsible. Singh, who also serves as the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports, emphasized the critical need to reinforce students' faith in the examination system, especially when lakhs of students are under immense pressure.
Key Demands in the Letter
In his letter, Singh highlighted the recurring incidents of paper leaks, including the NEET exam case, which have shaken the confidence of students and parents alike. He urged the government to provide a comprehensive white paper detailing the number of leaks, the measures taken to prevent them, and the legal actions initiated against culprits.
Impact on Students
Singh noted that such leaks create an uneven playing field and add to the anxiety of students preparing for competitive exams. He called for transparency and accountability to ensure that the integrity of the examination process is maintained.
Government's Response
The Prime Minister's Office has not yet issued an official response to Singh's letter. However, the demand comes amid growing public outcry over exam irregularities and demands for stricter laws to prevent future incidents.
Singh's letter also suggested that the white paper should include recommendations from the parliamentary committee to strengthen the examination system and safeguard the interests of students across the country.
