DMK Leader T.R. Baalu Slams Rahul Gandhi for Opposition Discord
In a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, senior Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader T.R. Baalu accused him of being responsible for the growing friction within the opposition INDIA bloc. Baalu stated that Rahul Gandhi's immature behavior has created a rift among alliance partners.
Who Churned Poison in India Bloc?
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Baalu said, "The question is who churned poison in the India bloc. It is Rahul Gandhi who holds an immature attitude. He is accountable for the friction." The DMK leader's comments come amid reports of internal disagreements within the opposition alliance over seat-sharing and leadership issues.
Baalu further alleged that Rahul Gandhi's approach has alienated key allies, weakening the coalition's unity ahead of the 2024 general elections. He emphasized that the DMK has always worked for the opposition's consolidation but Rahul Gandhi's actions have been detrimental.
The Congress party has not yet responded to Baalu's remarks. However, sources indicate that the party is trying to manage the situation to avoid further damage to the alliance. The INDIA bloc, formed to challenge the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, has faced several challenges in maintaining cohesion.
Political analysts view this public criticism as a sign of deepening cracks within the opposition front. The DMK, a key ally in Tamil Nadu, has been vocal about its displeasure with the Congress leadership's decisions.
