CM Rekha Gupta outlines vision for Viksit Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has asserted that the 'double-engine government' — with the BJP in power at both the Centre and the state — is working diligently to transform Delhi into a 'Viksit Delhi' (developed Delhi), aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's broader vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India). Speaking at the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelans' held in the Hari Nagar, Janakpuri and Rajouri Garden Assembly constituencies, Gupta highlighted the transformative growth India has witnessed over the past 12 years under the Modi-led government.
Achievements under PM Modi's leadership
Gupta underscored that under PM Modi's leadership, India has written a new chapter of development, good governance and public welfare. She stated, "Under the leadership of PM Modi, India has written a new chapter of development, good governance and public welfare. Delhi is moving ahead with the same resolve to become a developed capital." The CM emphasised that the double-engine government is committed to making Delhi a clean, safe, modern and world-class capital through transparent and time-bound implementation of development projects.
Key initiatives by Delhi government
Gupta detailed several initiatives undertaken by the Delhi government in recent months. These include the Yamuna cleaning campaign, measures to curb air pollution, improvements in water supply and sewerage systems, strengthening of roads and drainage infrastructure, expansion of healthcare and education facilities, implementation of the Delhi EV Policy, promotion of green energy, and digital governance reforms. She noted that these efforts are part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance the quality of life for Delhi's residents and to set a benchmark for urban development in India.
Commitment to transparent governance
The CM reiterated that the double-engine government ensures seamless coordination between the Centre and the state, enabling faster and more effective implementation of welfare schemes. She said that the government is focused on delivering results with transparency and accountability, ensuring that every rupee spent translates into tangible benefits for the people. The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelans served as platforms to engage with citizens, gather feedback and reaffirm the government's commitment to inclusive development.
