Shimla: Four women teachers were killed after a powerful storm caused a pine tree to fall on the Bolero they were traveling in along the Shamshar–Gugra road in Kullu's Ani area on Saturday evening.
The impact made the driver lose control, and the vehicle — carrying the driver and six schoolteachers — plunged off the road. The deceased — Sneha Lata, Banti Kaundal, Usha Kumari, and Seema Azad — died on the spot, while the injured, including driver Suresh Chand, Tara Devi, and Reena Kumari, were shifted to a nearby hospital by locals.
CM Expresses Grief
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Education Minister Rohit Thakur expressed grief over the loss of the teachers' lives. They extended condolences to the bereaved families, prayed for the departed souls, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. Sukhu also directed the district administration to provide all necessary assistance and ensure proper medical care.
