Gadkari Firmly Rejects Allegations Linking BJP to Gandhi Assassination
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari delivered a strong rebuttal on Monday, categorically denying any connection between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the killing of Mahatma Gandhi. Speaking at the party's 46th foundation day event in Nagpur, Gadkari dismissed what he termed a "fake narrative" aimed at portraying the BJP as casteist and anti-minority.
Countering Propaganda and Upholding Core Values
Gadkari addressed persistent criticisms head-on, stating that opponents have "done as much as they could to poison people's minds against the party over the years." He specifically targeted several allegations, asserting their falsehood.
- The claim that the BJP is a party of a particular caste.
- The accusation that the party is linked to Mahatma Gandhi's assassin.
- The portrayal of the BJP as being against Muslims and other minority communities.
He declared these points "completely wrong," emphasizing that such propaganda misrepresents the party's true ethos.
Championing 'Sarva Dharma Sambhav' and Governance
In outlining the party's philosophy, Gadkari highlighted its commitment to "Sarva Dharma Sambhav" (equal respect for all religions) and "Vishwa Kalyan" (the welfare of the world). He connected these principles to tangible governance goals, stating that the party's vision for India focuses on delivering essential needs to the people.
"People should get water, good roads, employment, and freedom from hunger and poverty. This is the Bharat we want to build," Gadkari affirmed, linking ideological foundations to practical development outcomes.
Invoking Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Vision
To reinforce his message, Gadkari recalled the words of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, quoting his famous line: "Andhera chhatega, suraj niklega, aur kamal khilega" (The darkness will fade, the sun will rise, and the lotus will bloom). He stated that this optimistic vision has materialized over time, suggesting that the party's journey aligns with Vajpayee's prophecy of progress and prosperity.
Through his address, Gadkari sought to firmly distance the BJP from historical controversies while reaffirming its dedication to inclusive growth and national welfare, positioning the party against what he views as baseless political attacks.
