Goyal Questions Vijay Film Leak, Slams DMK in Thanjavur

Union Minister Piyush Goyal Raises Suspicion Over Jana Nayagan Film Leak in Thanjavur

Union Minister of Commerce Piyush Goyal, while addressing reporters in Thanjavur on Sunday, cast doubt on the recent leak of actor-turned-politician Vijay's movie Jana Nayagan, implying that the Tamil Nadu-based political party TVK might have orchestrated the incident. "There is something fishy about this leak," Goyal asserted, questioning why this particular film was targeted when thousands of movies are released annually in India without such issues.

Goyal Calls for FIR and Exposes Alleged Hypocrisy

Goyal urged the film's producers to file an FIR immediately, emphasizing that "other than the producer, nobody else had the film." He pointed out the irony in the situation, noting that the same critics who previously complained about delays in the film's release might now be exposed if a proper inquiry is conducted. "If an inquiry is held, they will be exposed," he stated, suggesting potential ulterior motives behind the leak.

Sharp Criticism of DMK's Governance and Constitutional Disrespect

Shifting focus to state politics, Goyal launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu. He accused the DMK of consistently disrespecting constitutional authorities, including the governor, Prime Minister, Election Commission, and judiciary. "The DMK has never respected any constitutional authority," Goyal declared, citing instances where the party allegedly filed impeachment motions against judges whose orders they disliked.

Allegations of Unfulfilled Election Promises and Farmer Distress

Goyal further alleged that the DMK government has failed to deliver on most of its election commitments, with more than 70% of promises remaining unfulfilled. He highlighted specific grievances, particularly affecting farmers in the delta region. "Under the DMK-Congress regime, farmers' sweat has turned into tears," he lamented, detailing how unseasonal rains destroyed crops and a lack of state-built storage capacity led to the waste of 20 lakh tonnes of paddy.

He questioned the absence of promised infrastructure, asking, "They had promised in the last election to build grain warehouses. Where are these warehouses? They had promised a 10,000 crore water management project for the delta region. Where is this project?" Goyal blamed delayed procurement and inadequate storage for exacerbating farmers' woes, leaving them unable to sell their produce effectively.

Political Campaigning and BJP Engagement in Tamil Nadu

Earlier in the day, Goyal engaged with BJP functionaries in Pudukottai, meeting candidates contesting the upcoming elections. In Thanjavur, he actively campaigned for Karuppu Muruganandham, the BJP candidate for the Thanjavur constituency, underscoring the party's efforts to strengthen its presence in Tamil Nadu ahead of the polls.

Goyal's comments in Thanjavur have sparked significant political discourse, blending entertainment industry controversies with sharp critiques of state governance, as the election season heats up in Tamil Nadu.
