Gurua Bazaar Shops Closed in Protest After Armed Robbery
Businessmen in Gurua bazaar kept their shops closed on Thursday to protest a robbery that occurred late Wednesday evening. Five unidentified armed criminals looted cash and ornaments from bullion trader Prabhakar Barnwal, who sustained a gunshot injury to his right thigh. He is currently undergoing treatment at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital.
Demands for Action
The traders demanded that the police administration ensure the recovery of the looted items, including Rs 5 lakh in cash and gold and silver ornaments worth approximately Rs 40 lakh, and arrest those involved in the crime.
Senior Police Officials Visit the Spot
On Thursday, Magadh range inspector general of police Vikas Vaibhav and Gaya senior superintendent of police Sushil Kumar visited Gurua and inspected the location where the robbery took place. After the inspection, the two senior police officers held a meeting with traders at Gurua police station.
Special Investigation Team Formed
Following the meeting, Vikas Vaibhav stated, “A special investigation team was constituted to probe the robbery with the bullion trader on Wednesday evening. The team is carrying out raids and investigating the case from multiple angles.”
Assurances to Traders
Vikas and Sushil assured the traders that police patrolling in the area would be intensified and all possible measures would be taken to ensure the safety and security of the business community.
