Haryana BJP chief confident of forming govt in Punjab

Yamunanagar: Haryana BJP president Archana Gupta on Saturday expressed confidence that the BJP would form a government in Punjab and provide the state with development, transparent governance and welfare benefits similar to those available in Haryana. Addressing a felicitation ceremony in Jagadhri, Gupta said the BJP remained active in public service and nation-building even beyond elections, unlike many other political parties.

Welcomed by party workers and representatives of various social organisations on her arrival in Yamunanagar, Gupta thanked them for their support and said it strengthened her commitment to public welfare and state development.

Highlighting the BJP's focus on women's empowerment, she said schemes launched by the Narendra Modi-led Centre and the Nayab Singh Saini government had improved the social and economic status of women. She cited Haryana's Lado Lakshmi Yojana, under which eligible women receive Rs 2,100 per month, as a key initiative.

Gupta also highlighted welfare programmes such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, old-age pensions, Skill India, Startup India, Digital India, Mudra Yojana and Khelo India, saying they created new opportunities for youth and strengthened social welfare.

Urging party workers to prepare for upcoming elections, she reiterated BJP's slogan of "Booth Jeeta, Chunav Jeeta" and called on them to work with the spirit of "Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot." She said the BJP's third consecutive victories at the Centre and in Haryana reflected public trust and workers' dedication.

Referring to Punjab, Gupta said people in the state wanted development-oriented governance and welfare schemes. She also urged BJP workers to actively participate in anti-drug awareness campaigns to help tackle the growing drug menace in Punjab.

She also praised former minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar and Yamunanagar BJP district president Rajesh Sapra for their contributions to governance and organisational strengthening.
