Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta on Sunday expressed concern over the rising drug menace among the youth in the state and urged parents to spend quality time with their children, communicate openly, become their trusted companions, and connect them to India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.
Governor’s Call for Value-Based Upbringing
Speaking after participating in the sacred Shiv-Shakti Mahakatha and the Shiv Vivah Mahotsav organized by the Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan in Shimla, Governor Gupta emphasized that while strict enforcement of law is essential, the strongest safeguard against social evils lies in value-based upbringing. He urged people to collectively ensure that India’s cultural ethos, family traditions, and spiritual values are passed on to future generations.
Role of Cultural Events
The Governor highlighted that events like the Shiv-Shakti Mahakatha play a vital role in preserving India’s timeless cultural and spiritual heritage. He called upon parents to become trusted companions for their children and to actively engage them in India’s rich traditions.
