Youths Form Human Chain at Hussainiwala Memorial Demanding Urban Job Guarantee Law
In a powerful display of solidarity, hundreds of youths and students gathered at the Shaheedi Memorial in Hussainiwala, Ferozepur, on Monday to form a human chain. The event was organized to demand the enactment of a national urban employment guarantee law and to pay tribute to the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day.
Floral Tributes and Campaign Launch
The participants, operating under the banner of the "Banega" campaign, first offered floral tributes at the memorial before forming the human chain as a mark of respect. This symbolic gesture highlighted their commitment to the cause of employment rights for urban youth.
The proposed legislation, known as the Bhagat Singh National Urban Employment Guarantee Act, is backed by various student and youth organizations. It aims to ensure guaranteed employment opportunities for young people in urban areas, addressing growing concerns over job scarcity.

They expressed deep concerns over shrinking job opportunities, particularly highlighting the growing impact of artificial intelligence on traditional employment sectors.
The demands put forth by the organizers include:
- A legal guarantee of jobs for urban youth
- Reduction in working hours from eight to six hours per day
This event underscores the ongoing struggle for economic security and the preservation of employment rights in the face of technological advancements and economic challenges.
