Impersonator Arrested in UP Home Guard Exam, Admits Fraud

An impersonator was arrested during the Uttar Pradesh Home Guard enrollment examination 2025 at Sahu Gopinath Kanya Inter College on Sunday. The accused, identified as Anurag (27), a resident of Hardoi district, was caught during the first shift (10 am to 12 noon) after biometric verification raised suspicion.

Checks confirmed that he was appearing on behalf of another candidate. Investigations revealed that Anurag had also impersonated a different candidate, Dharmendra Singh, in Saturday's examination held at Darbari Lal Sharma Inter College on Pilibhit Road.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya stated, “This indicates a calculated and repeated attempt to manipulate the recruitment process for financial or personal gain.” Anurag confessed to both acts.
