Veterans of the Indian Army's June 1966 batch from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) gathered in the Tricity on Sunday and Monday to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of their commissioning, marking 60 years of enduring camaraderie, service and shared memories.

The batch has produced several distinguished personalities. Among them is Lt Gen Mohinder Puri, who commanded the 8 Mountain Division during the Kargil conflict and played a key role in planning counter-offensive operations. The course also includes Col Kuldeep Singh Garcha, an Arjuna Awardee and internationally recognised equestrian, and Lt Col Vivek Mundkar, credited with popularising hang gliding in India.
