Former chief minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed constituency in-charges and regional coordinators to remain highly vigilant during the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, stating that the next four weeks are crucial. Addressing senior party leaders at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Tuesday, Jagan instructed party functionaries to conduct daily reviews on the SIR process in their respective areas and immediately bring any irregularities to the notice of officials. If the issues are not resolved, they should be reported to the party's central office, he said.
Jagan said negligence should be avoided during the SIR process as deletion of a vote once from the electoral roll could make restoration difficult. He asked constituency coordinators to ensure that every eligible vote is protected. He alleged that the ruling TDP government was attempting to remove YSRCP supporters' votes by misusing official machinery. He claimed that there were efforts to delete around 50 YSRCP votes from every polling booth.
“Naidu is trying to remove YSRCP votes through misuse of power. Party coordinators and booth-level agents should prevent such attempts and safeguard every vote,” Jagan said. He alleged that Naidu has experience in using tactics to remove votes through various methods and asked party leaders to closely monitor the ground-level implementation of the SIR process.
Jagan directed constituency coordinators and booth-level agents to maintain continuous coordination, review the process regularly and ensure that voters do not face difficulties. He said any discrepancies noticed during the revision process should be immediately addressed through the appropriate channels. The YSRCP chief reiterated that protecting every voter's right should be the priority during the electoral roll revision exercise.
