J&K Chief Minister Condemns Delhi Terror Attack
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called for the strictest punishment for those responsible for the devastating Delhi blast near the Red Fort that claimed 12 lives and left several injured. The explosion occurred on November 10, 2025, when an explosives-laden car being driven by Dr Umar Nabi from south Kashmir's Pulwama detonated in the historic area.
Investigation Reveals Interstate Terror Network
The tragic incident unfolded hours after security forces made a significant breakthrough in Faridabad, bordering Delhi. Authorities recovered approximately 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate along with a substantial cache of arms and ammunition from the rented accommodation of another Kashmiri doctor, Muzammil Ganaie.
This discovery led to the exposure of an interstate 'white collar' Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror module operating across Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Eight individuals, including seven Kashmiris, have been arrested in connection with this sophisticated network, with Dr Umar Nabi emerging as a key figure in the terror operations.
CM Abdullah's Strong Warning Against Collective Punishment
Speaking to reporters in Jammu on Thursday, Chief Minister Abdullah delivered a powerful message condemning the attack while cautioning against blanket accusations against the Kashmiri community. "No amount of condemnation is enough for this incident. The brutal killing of innocent people in such a manner is extremely shameful," he stated.
The Chief Minister emphasized that "every resident of Jammu and Kashmir is not a terrorist" and warned against the dangerous practice of viewing all Kashmiri Muslims through the same lens. He stressed that only a handful of elements were responsible for disturbing peace and harmony in the region, while the majority of Kashmiris remain law-abiding citizens.
"When we begin to look at every Kashmiri Muslim through the same lens and try to give the impression that every Kashmiri Muslim is a terrorist, it becomes very difficult to keep things on the right track," Abdullah cautioned, highlighting the importance of maintaining social harmony.
Questions Raised About Prior Intelligence
In a significant development, the Chief Minister questioned why no legal action was taken earlier against Arif Nisar Dar, a doctor from Srinagar's SMHS Hospital who was among the eight arrested individuals. Dar had been dismissed from service in 2023 by the Lt Governor for alleged terror links.
Abdullah pointedly asked, "If you believed he had terror links and you had evidence, why didn't you take that evidence to court? Why was he not prosecuted? Merely dismissing someone from service doesn't end the matter — and today, we are seeing the result of that."
The Chief Minister's remarks underscore the need for proper legal procedures and timely action against suspected individuals, regardless of their educational or professional background.
As investigations continue into the Faridabad terror module and its connections to the Delhi explosion, security agencies remain on high alert while authorities work to ensure that justice is served without compromising the rights and dignity of innocent citizens.
