Arvind Kejriwal Offers Prayers at Golden Temple Following Court Victory in Liquor Case
In a significant development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal visited the revered Golden Temple in Amritsar on Thursday, accompanied by his wife, to offer prayers and express gratitude to Waheguru. This visit comes just days after a court dismissed allegations against him in the high-profile Delhi liquor case, marking a pivotal moment for the AAP leadership.
Kejriwal's Emotional Response to Court Decision
During a brief interaction with the media outside the Golden Temple, Kejriwal shared his heartfelt sentiments. "This could not have happened without the grace and blessings of Waheguru," he stated, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the moment. He revealed that he had visited Darbar Sahib numerous times in the past to seek divine blessings, but this visit held special meaning as it followed the restoration of his honor and freedom from all allegations.
Kejriwal was joined by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and his wife, along with their families, in what he described as a collective act of bowing before Waheguru to express gratitude. He did not shy away from addressing the political turmoil, alleging that the AAP leadership had been subjected to a sustained campaign of false allegations and political mudslinging, which he now feels vindicated against.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Highlights Agricultural and Economic Progress
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann seized the opportunity to highlight the positive developments in Punjab under his administration. He pointed to a significant decline in farmer suicides, attributing this improvement to enhanced irrigation water access. "According to the latest government report, suicides decreased because irrigation water is now reaching the fields," Mann explained. He provided specific data, noting that water coverage increased from only 21 percent of fields on March 16, 2022, to nearly 75 to 80 percent by March 2026.
Mann also discussed advancements in the power sector, mentioning that the power board announced potential tariff reductions due to decreased electricity consumption and improved daytime power supply. Additionally, he emphasized that farmers are receiving Minimum Support Price (MSP), which has bolstered agricultural stability in the state.
Upcoming Invest Punjab Summit to Boost Economic Growth
In a forward-looking announcement, CM Bhagwant Mann revealed that the Invest Punjab Summit is set to commence on Friday, March 13, and will continue until March 15. This event aims to attract substantial investment to the region, with participants expected from across India and internationally.
"Investors are coming not only from across the country but also from countries such as Japan, Korea, the UK, France, and Switzerland," Mann stated. He expressed optimism about the growing interest in Punjab as a destination for industrial setup, noting that for the first time, these investors are showing keen interest in establishing factories and large plants in partnership with Indian companies. This summit is poised to play a crucial role in driving economic growth and creating job opportunities in Punjab.
The visit to the Golden Temple thus served as both a spiritual retreat and a platform for political and economic discourse, underscoring the intertwined nature of faith, governance, and development in the current political landscape.
