Kerala Chief Minister has strongly refuted the Communist Party of India (Marxist) claim that the recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids at the residences of party leader Pinarayi Vijayan were the result of a secret deal between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress. He dismissed the allegation as baseless and politically motivated.
CM Rejects Conspiracy Theory
Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister stated that the law enforcement agencies are acting independently and in accordance with the law. He emphasized that there is no evidence to support the CPM's assertion of a BJP-Congress collusion. The CM urged the opposition to refrain from making unsubstantiated claims that could undermine public trust in institutions.
Action Against Attackers
The Chief Minister also addressed the recent attacks on ED officials during the raids. He condemned the violence and assured that stringent action would be taken against those responsible. The state government is committed to ensuring the safety of all law enforcement personnel performing their duties.
The ED raids, conducted earlier this week, targeted multiple locations linked to Pinarayi Vijayan, the former Chief Minister and current CPM politburo member. The searches are part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities. The CPM had alleged that the raids were politically motivated and orchestrated by the BJP in coordination with the Congress.
Meanwhile, opposition leader V. D. Satheesan criticized the state government's response, calling for a transparent inquiry into the incident. The political landscape in Kerala remains charged as both ruling and opposition parties trade accusations.
