Kodagu Achieves 98.3% Voter Mapping Ahead of Revision

Madikeri: Kodagu district has achieved 98.3% progress in voters mapping, Deputy Commissioner and District Electoral Officer S.J. Somashekar announced on Saturday.

Voter Mapping Details

Speaking to reporters, he stated that out of the total 4,68,546 voters, 4,60,602 have been successfully mapped. As a preliminary step for the special comprehensive revision in the district, the voters listed in the 2025 voter list have been matched with the 2002 voter list, ensuring that available voters and their ancestry details are aligned.

Appointment of Booth-Level Agents

As part of the special intensive revision of the voters’ list, it is mandatory for all recognised political parties to appoint one booth-level agent for each polling booth. The district has appointed 552 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 96 BLO supervisors to facilitate the revision process.

New Voter Registration Officers

Assistant Commissioner Nitin Chakki has been appointed as the Voter Registration Officer for the Madikeri constituency, while District Urban Development Cell Project Director R. Manjunath has been appointed as the Voter Registration Officer for the Virajpet constituency. Additionally, respective taluk tahsildars have been appointed as Assistant Voter Registration Officers to support the process.
