'They're just always really friendly, just like most of the neighbors around here,' he said, adding that Handy was a friendly person who used to talk about cats and baseball. 'I really regret the fact that I didn't take advantage and just see him one last time. Life's too short,' the neighbor expressed, mentioning he was lucky that he talked to him at least once.

James Handy was lethally stabbed on June 3, 2026, by Michael Gledhill, who confessed to doing the deed during a 911 phone call. 'I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin,' LAPD reported about the call to dispatch.
