The Chief Minister also raised concerns about the timing of the first supplementary voters' list, which was published late at night on Monday instead of the scheduled Saturday. She claimed that this delay has caused confusion and distress, citing reports of two recent suicides and over 200 deaths related to the Statewide Intensive Revision process. Banerjee questioned why the EC took additional days to release the list, suggesting it might have been used to manipulate voter inclusions.
Banerjee noted that judicial officers had already scrutinized documents for 29 lakh individuals on the list, yet the EC delayed its publication. She alleged that the poll panel is not being truthful or transparent, fearing that the full list might reveal irregularities. The EC has announced two more supplementary lists for release on Friday and April 3, but Banerjee demanded immediate publication of all pending cases.
