A 55-year-old man died after jumping 40 feet off the Baitarani river bridge in Patna police station area of Keonjhar district. The incident occurred around 2 pm on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Biswanath Nayak, a resident of Shivnarayanpur village under Bada Patna Panchayat in Patna block.
There is no clear information about the circumstances that led him to climb the bridge and take such an extreme step. It remains uncertain whether he jumped intentionally or fell accidentally. G Gardis, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Patna police station, stated, “After receiving information, Patna police along with the fire brigade reached the spot, rescued the body, and sent it to Patna community health centre for post-mortem. The cause of death can be confirmed after post-mortem and investigation.”
