Vijayapura: After taking oath as a minister in the new cabinet, Industries and Infrastructure Development Minister MB Patil made his first visit to the city on Saturday evening and paid respects at Hasimpir Dargah, Arkat Dargah, and Shri Siddharameshwar Temple.
Speaking to reporters, Patil said Sufi saints have instilled the values of harmony, unity, and coexistence in society. “Their ideals continue to guide people, promoting the message of religious harmony and brotherhood,” he said.
At Hasimpir Dargah, Syed Mehmood Husaini Hashmi, Syed Moinoddin Husaini Hashmi, Syed Zainul Abidin Hashmi, Syed Wajedpiran Hashmi, and leaders such as Jameer Bhakshi and Shakeel Bagamare were present.
At the Arkat Dargah, Sajjade Dr Syed Shah Takipiran Husaini, Syed Shah Iqbal Piran Husaini, Syed Shah Ali Piran Husaini, and leaders including Mohammad Rafiq Tapal, Rafiq Ahmed Kane, Abdul Razaq Horti, MC Mulla, and Ashfaq Mangooli were present.
Later, he visited the historic Shri Siddheshwar Temple and performed a special puja. Speaking there, the minister said the temple has a grand history spanning hundreds of years and, with its unique architecture and rich cultural heritage, attracts thousands of devotees daily. Mayor MS Karadi, chairman of Shri Siddheshwar Institution Basayya Hiremath, vice-president Sangu Sajjan, corporator Premanand Biradar, and others were present on the occasion.
