An award ceremony for the Young Officers (Signals) Course No. YO-165 was conducted at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow on Monday. According to an MCTE press release, the event marked the culmination of an intensive professional training program designed to equip young officers of the Corps of Signals with the skills required to address technological and operational challenges on the modern battlefield.
Course Composition
The course comprised 63 young officers, including 11 officers from friendly foreign nations: Cameroon, Mongolia, Namibia, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho, Ivory Coast, and Eswatini.
Chief Guest and Address
The chief guest for the ceremony was Lieutenant General Ulhas Kirpekar, Director General of Financial Planning and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals. Addressing the officers, Lt Gen Kirpekar commended them for their dedication, professional competence, and commitment to excellence in military communications and information systems. He urged the young officers to remain at the forefront of technological innovation and to continue upholding the highest traditions of the Corps.
Awards and Recognition
Lieutenant Yash Vardhan received the coveted Plaque of Honour and the medal for standing first in the overall order of merit. Lt Gen Kirpekar felicitated all winners in recognition of their outstanding performance during the course.
