The incident took place at the house site of K Chellappan, a 76-year-old retired Electricity Board employee from Kuppampalayam near Kodumudi Salaiputhur, located on Iraniyan Street at Solar. Devaraj and Mariammal were working on the site when a mini lift suddenly snapped and fell directly on them. Both workers were standing below the lift at the time of the accident.

Fatal Injuries

The impact of the falling lift caused severe head injuries to both individuals. They died instantly at the scene. Local authorities were alerted, and the bodies were subsequently transported to the Erode Government Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
