Prayagraj: Dr A K Verma, principal of MLN Medical College, conducted an inspection of the arrangements at SRN Hospital on Tuesday. He visited the reception, registration counter, and various outpatient departments (OPDs) as well as the hospital premises. During the inspection, Dr Verma engaged with patients and their relatives to understand their grievances and gather suggestions for improving existing facilities.
Registration Counter Review
Dr Verma examined the registration counter and inquired about the time taken to generate registration slips. He sought to understand the reasons behind unnecessary overcrowding and inconvenience. He directed officials to ensure that registration slips are issued to patients in the shortest possible time and that priority assistance is provided to elderly individuals, women, and critically ill patients.
OPD Inspection and Patient Interaction
Dr Verma toured various OPDs and assessed the attendance of doctors and healthcare staff. He spoke with patients and their relatives waiting outside the OPDs, collecting information about hospital facilities, difficulties faced in obtaining medical consultations, and other issues. Patients from distant districts voiced their concerns, and Dr Verma issued directives to the concerned officials to resolve these issues promptly.
Dr Verma emphasized that understanding patients' problems and ensuring their prompt and effective resolution should be the top priority of the hospital administration. He instructed officials to maintain regular dialogue with patients and their relatives and to address their complaints and suggestions with utmost seriousness.
Reopening of Exit Gate
As part of the inspection, Dr Verma reviewed the exit gate located near the main entrance of Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, which had been closed for a long time. Considering the need for smooth movement of patients and ambulances, the exit gate has been reopened starting Tuesday. The hospital administration stated that the availability of separate routes for entry and exit is expected to alleviate issues of overcrowding and traffic congestion at the main gate, while also providing relief to ambulances arriving for emergency services.
