PM Modi Condemns TMC Over Alleged Insult to President Murmu in West Bengal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp critique against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress (TMC) party on Sunday, focusing on alleged protocol violations and mismanagement during President Droupadi Murmu's recent visit to the state. Allegations of Boycott and Mismanagement

"This is not merely an insult to the President; it is an insult to the Constitution of India and the very spirit of our democracy," Modi declared. He further accused the ruling party in West Bengal of engaging in "dirty politics" and warned that such arrogance of power would inevitably face consequences from the people.
Centre Demands Explanation for Protocol Breaches
As the political controversy escalated, the Union government formally intervened by directing the West Bengal administration to provide a detailed response by 5 pm on Sunday regarding suspected violations of established protocol. Sources from the Press Trust of India (PTI) revealed that Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan dispatched a letter to the state's chief secretary, seeking clarification on multiple alleged breaches of the confidential "Blue Book" guidelines.
The Blue Book outlines strict security and protocol procedures for high-ranking officials, including the President, Vice-President, and Prime Minister. According to the communication, the Centre has specifically questioned:
- The absence of the chief minister, chief secretary, and director general of police at the airport to receive President Murmu, as mandated by protocol.
- Reports that the washroom arranged for the President lacked running water.
- Allegations that the route designated for the presidential convoy was strewn with garbage.
Additionally, the letter requests information on disciplinary actions taken against key officials believed responsible for these lapses, including the Darjeeling district magistrate, Siliguri police commissioner, and additional district magistrate.
Modi's Stern Warning to TMC
In his address, the Prime Minister issued a stark warning, invoking traditional wisdom about the perils of ego and unchecked power. "No matter how powerful a person may be, arrogance ultimately leads to their downfall," Modi stated. He appealed to the public, asserting that the "enlightened people of West Bengal" would not overlook the insult directed at a woman, a tribal leader, and the nation's President.
Modi concluded by affirming that the tribal community, women across India, and the entire country would hold the TMC accountable for these alleged transgressions.
