Naidu Slams DMK and Congress for Defeating Women's Reservation Bill
In a sharp political attack, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Congress party of betraying women by defeating the Women's Reservation Bill. Naidu made these remarks during a campaign event in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, on Tuesday.
Campaign Event in Sattur Assembly Constituency
Chandrababu Naidu participated in a roadshow to campaign for BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran in the Sattur assembly constituency. This event highlighted the growing political alliances and tensions in the region as election season intensifies.

"Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala are all integral parts of Bharat Mata (India). Despite our diverse languages and cultures, we are united as Indians. We must compete and grow together, striving for collective progress," Naidu stated, promoting regional unity within the national framework.
Criticism of Women's Reservation Bill Defeat
Naidu specifically targeted the DMK and Congress for their role in defeating the Women's Reservation Bill. He explained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced this bill with the objective of providing 33% reservation to women, aiming to increase their representation as MPs and MLAs.
"By defeating this bill, DMK and Congress have betrayed the women of our country. This move undermines efforts to empower women and ensure their participation in governance," Naidu asserted, framing the issue as a critical failure in supporting gender equality.

In addition to the reservation bill, Naidu criticized the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu, suggesting that it hampers development and security. He argued that for Tamil Nadu to achieve true progress, a double-engine NDA government is necessary at both the central and state levels.
