Devarayalu referenced Shah's remarks in the House on Thursday, which outlined a planned 50% proportionate increase in seats for each state. This adjustment is expected to boost Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh from 25 to 38, a move that has garnered significant regional support.
Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy extended his party's support while criticizing the opposition's stance. He termed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (DMK) opposition to the women's reservation bill amendment as "fear mongering," arguing that claims of southern states losing out were misleading. Kumaraswamy further asserted that the Congress party had lost touch with grassroots realities and was unprepared for the transformative changes these bills would introduce.
