BJP President Nitin Nabin Emphasizes Booth-Level Strengthening During Maiden Uttar Pradesh Visit
In his first official visit to Uttar Pradesh after being elected as the Bharatiya Janata Party's national president, Nitin Nabin on Sunday addressed party workers in Mathura, delivering a strong message focused on grassroots mobilization and development achievements.
Call for Enhanced Voter Outreach and Booth-Level Activity
The BJP president specifically directed party workers to strengthen booth-level activity and intensify voter outreach efforts across the state. He emphasized the importance of paying close attention to key takeaways from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly radio program 'Mann Ki Baat', suggesting these insights should inform their political work and communication with constituents.
Praise for Uttar Pradesh's Transformation Under Yogi Adityanath
Nabin, a five-term MLA himself, expressed appreciation for the efforts and hard work of the Uttar Pradesh government, asserting that the state has successfully shed its negative image from previous administrations. "Uttar Pradesh has emerged as Uttam Pradesh under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath," he declared during his address.
He elaborated further, stating: "Our party workers, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were able to counterattack the negative image that was created by the past governments." Nabin highlighted infrastructure improvements as visible evidence of this transformation, noting: "As I was coming here today, I felt that the roads in Uttar Pradesh are better than those seen abroad. This itself is testimony to how the country is changing."
Focus on Marginalized Communities and Antyodaya Philosophy
The BJP president connected current governance approaches to ideological foundations, referencing Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's concept of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person). He asserted that Prime Minister Modi's development vision consistently centers on the poorest and most marginalized communities.
"The PM ensured development while keeping the last person at the centre of governance," Nabin stated, adding that "the weak and the marginalised have been the focus of his policies." He further emphasized collective progress, quoting the Prime Minister: "When he takes one step forward, the country's 140 crore people walk with him, and with such collective strength, no force can stop India from progressing."
Confidence in India's Global Standing
Nabin contrasted India's current international position with past perceptions, remarking: "There was a time when India's PM could not look world leaders in the eye, but those days are a thing of the past." This statement underscored his confidence in the nation's enhanced global stature under the current leadership.
Support from State Leadership and Temple Visit
State BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary welcomed Nabin to Uttar Pradesh, though he shortened his public address due to a sore throat. Several other prominent party leaders attended the event, including national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Dushyant Kumar Gautam.
In a significant cultural and religious gesture, BJP president Nitin Nabin and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath later visited the revered Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan. They performed traditional rituals including lighting lamps, bowing before the deity, and offering flowers to Lord Banke Bihari.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Adityanath offered prayers specifically for the prosperity of Uttar Pradesh and the successful realization of the 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) vision championed by the central government.
Yogi Adityanath Highlights Youth Confidence and Economic Progress
Welcoming the BJP president to the Braj region, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the changed perception about Uttar Pradesh since the BJP government assumed power. "UP youths now hold their heads high," he proclaimed, attributing this renewed confidence to the state's transformation.
Adityanath described BJP workers as "fortunate" for getting the opportunity to welcome the party president on his inaugural state visit. He urged Nabin to provide a clear roadmap for party workers to achieve electoral success in upcoming state polls.
The Chief Minister praised Nabin's leadership qualities, stating: "Nitin Nabin represents youthful energy and dynamism." He further emphasized Uttar Pradesh's economic turnaround, noting: "UP has shed its 'BIMARU' tag and is emerging as a strong pillar of the Indian economy. For five years, the state has remained revenue-surplus. The double-engine government is executing major projects at an accelerated pace."
This comprehensive visit by the newly elected BJP national president underscores the party's strategic focus on Uttar Pradesh ahead of future electoral contests, while simultaneously highlighting governance achievements and reinforcing organizational discipline at the grassroots level.
