Prime Minister Modi Addresses Energy Concerns and Political Corruption in Tamil Nadu
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a significant address at a political rally in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday, focusing on two critical issues: the ongoing LPG shortage triggered by the West Asia conflict and allegations of corruption against the ruling DMK government.
Appeal for Calm Amid Global Energy Disruption
During his speech, PM Modi directly addressed concerns about the LPG shortage affecting households across India. He attributed the situation to disruptions in the global energy supply chain caused by the conflict in West Asia. The Prime Minister urged citizens to remain calm and avoid panic, emphasizing that the nation had successfully navigated previous challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Today, I would like to speak to the people of Tamil Nadu about the conflict in West Asia. It has affected the whole world's energy supply chain. We believe in the ideology of India first. There is no need to panic or pay attention to rumours," PM Modi stated, as reported by news agency PTI.
He drew parallels to India's handling of the pandemic, noting that 140 crore Indians demonstrated remarkable maturity during that crisis. "During Covid pandemic, 140 crore Indians showed the world how mature our nation is. I am confident that as a nation, we will navigate every situation successfully," he added, expressing confidence in the country's resilience.
Sharp Criticism of DMK Government
In a significant political attack, Prime Minister Modi launched a scathing critique of the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu. He accused the party of deep-rooted corruption, dynasty politics, and failure to fulfill promises made during the 2021 elections.
"In DMK rule, everything starts and ends with one family," PM Modi alleged, highlighting what he described as concentrated power within a single political dynasty. "Ministers may change, MLAs may change, but power remains only with one dynasty."
The Prime Minister further claimed that the DMK operates under a "scientific corruption model" designed to benefit the ruling family. "Today, the same scientific graft model is used to make Tamil Nadu an ATM for one family," he asserted, suggesting systematic financial exploitation of the state.
Infrastructure Development and Economic Initiatives
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated development projects worth Rs 5,650 crore in Tamil Nadu. These initiatives are expected to create thousands of employment opportunities for the state's youth, addressing economic concerns in the region.
He highlighted significant infrastructure improvements, including enhanced airport facilities in Madurai and Tiruchirappalli. These developments are part of broader efforts to boost connectivity and economic growth in Tamil Nadu, positioning the state for future prosperity.
