Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that May 4 will mark the expiry date of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, citing a bumper voter turnout as a clear signal of regime change. Addressing a rally, Modi accused the Mamata Banerjee-led government of making false promises and betraying the people of the state.
Modi Lists TMC's Broken Promises
The Prime Minister enumerated several unfulfilled commitments made by the ruling party, including promises related to development, employment, and women's safety. He stated that the people of West Bengal have endured years of misrule and are now eager for a change.
High Voter Turnout Indicates Discontent
Modi pointed to the record voter turnout in the ongoing assembly elections as evidence of the public's desire to oust the TMC. He emphasized that such high participation reflects widespread dissatisfaction with the current administration.
"The people have decided. May 4 will be the expiry date of TMC," Modi asserted, urging voters to support the BJP for a better future.
The Prime Minister's comments come amid a fierce electoral battle in West Bengal, with the BJP aiming to unseat the TMC after years of dominance. The final phase of voting is scheduled for May 4, with results expected soon after.
