Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the chief ministers of Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 11th Niti Aayog Governing Council Meet in New Delhi.

Discussions and Congratulations

The leaders engaged in talks covering a range of topics, including state affairs. Several chief ministers congratulated the Prime Minister on completing 12 years in office.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extended his heartfelt wishes to PM Modi for surpassing the record of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, as the longest-serving elected Prime Minister consecutively.

Karnataka CM's Gift and Talks

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar presented the Prime Minister with a sculpture of a deity. He noted that the duo discussed Karnataka's development and sought the Centre's support to fulfill the state's aspirations. In a post on X, CM Shivakumar described the talks as "constructive" and reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating the state's development, expressing optimism about working with the Centre to build a "stronger Karnataka."

Telangana CM's Meeting and Requests

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also met PM Modi and gifted him a silver figurine of Nandi. CM Reddy stated that he urged the Prime Minister's intervention in fast-tracking approvals and support for important state projects, including the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion, Regional Ring Road, a 12-lane expressway from Future City to Bandar seaport in Andhra Pradesh, and airports at Warangal and Adilabad.

Uttar Pradesh CM's Praise

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded PM Modi's leadership and vision, congratulating him for completing 12 years in service. In a post, he wrote, "Today, in New Delhi, I paid a courtesy call on the esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, who has served as the longest-tenured elected Prime Minister in the history of India. Your warm presence and illustrious guidance infuse new energy into the creation of 'Developed India-Developed Uttar Pradesh'. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay also met and held talks with PM Modi.

Niti Aayog Governing Council Focus

The PM Modi-led government has completed 12 years in office. On June 10, he became the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in consecutive terms. The NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting focused on issues including the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision of 2047, strengthening cooperative federalism, and ensuring balanced and inclusive development across states.
