Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday witnessed an Indian Air Force flypast by the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team during the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav celebrations at Somnath temple in Gujarat.
According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the flypast was organised on the occasion of the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav and featured formations by the IAF team over the temple premises. The release stated that Modi described the event as a “confluence of pride and valour” and noted that the display spread the aura of saffron and the tricolour over the temple.
In a post on X quoted in the release, Modi said, “In Somnath today, the skies witnessed a magnificent confluence of pride and valour. The Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Team showcased a breathtaking flypast. This spirit of Bhakti and Shakti filled every heart with deep joy.”
The PMO further stated that the Prime Minister described the event as a combination of devotion and strength, adding that it made Indians proud. The Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, known for its precise formations and daring maneuvers, performed a series of aerial displays that captivated the gathered devotees and dignitaries.
The Somnath Amrut Mahotsav is a celebration marking the temple's significance in Indian culture and spirituality. The inclusion of the IAF flypast added a modern touch to the traditional festivities, symbolising the unity of heritage and national pride.
