Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal on Sunday, alleging that the state is not run from the secretariat but by criminals sheltered by the ruling party. Addressing a public rally in the state, Modi asserted that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can form a government that will deliver justice and security to the people.
PM Modi's Strong Words Against TMC
Speaking at an election rally, the Prime Minister said, "The TMC government does not function from the Writers' Building (the state secretariat). It is run by party-sheltered criminals who roam freely and perpetrate violence. The people of Bengal are suffering under this lawless regime." He accused the Mamata Banerjee-led government of promoting a culture of intimidation and corruption.
BJP as the Only Alternative
Modi emphasized that the BJP is the only party capable of restoring law and order in the state. "Only the BJP can form a government that will give justice and security to every citizen of Bengal. We will ensure that criminals are punished and the innocent are protected," he said. The Prime Minister urged voters to support the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections to bring about a change.
The rally comes amid heightened political tensions in the state, with the BJP intensifying its campaign to unseat the TMC. Modi's remarks are expected to further polarize the electorate as the state gears up for the 2026 assembly polls.
