Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects valued at Rs 18,777 crore on June 5 during his visit to Surat and Daman. The state government announced on Wednesday that these projects include initiatives by the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
GIDC Projects to be Unveiled
According to an official statement, GIDC projects in Bharuch, Valsad, and other districts will be unveiled during the Prime Minister's visit. These encompass effluent pipeline projects, as well as road, stormwater, and drainage projects in the Dahej Petroleum, Chemicals, and Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR). Additionally, a bulk drug park at Jambusar and projects at the Sarigam industrial estate in Valsad district will be inaugurated.
NHAI Infrastructure Initiatives
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for NHAI projects in the state. These include the inauguration of sections of the Vadodara-Mumbai expressway, the foundation stone laying for the four-laning of the Dhamasia-Bitada and Nasarpore-Malotha sections, and the foundation stone laying for a six-lane underpass at Hazira.
State government sources indicated that Mr. Modi will address a rally in Surat during his visit.
Celebrating 12 Years of Modi Government
The state government has organized several events across Gujarat to mark the completion of 12 years of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. An official statement noted that eminent personalities will speak at these events on the theme 'Twelve Years of Trust, Development, and Public Welfare.' A special drive will be undertaken throughout the month to promote central and state government schemes in all districts.
