PM Modi Calls for Intensified Campaign Efforts Ahead of Kerala Election

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Thursday that he could distinctly sense a powerful wave building in favor of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Speaking through an audio interaction with booth-level workers in Kerala, Modi emphasized the critical need for enhanced grassroots engagement in the final stretch before the election scheduled for April 9.

Direct Appeal for Maximum Voter Contact

In his address, the Prime Minister issued a clear directive to party workers, urging them to ensure they meet voters at their homes at least three additional times before polling day. "We should win every booth. For that you should work harder now," Modi stated, outlining specific targets for increased effort. He advised those currently dedicating six hours daily to ramp up their commitment to nine hours, and those already working nine hours to extend it to twelve.

"You should visit every household in your booth and tell people what difference NDA could make. You appeal to them to give NDA a chance," he instructed, highlighting the importance of personal outreach. Modi specifically stressed the need to connect with mothers and sisters during home visits, appealing directly for their support.

Strategic Focus on Development and Communication

During the interaction, select functionaries had the opportunity to converse with the Prime Minister. He asked them to detail their fieldwork and share grassroots perceptions of the NDA. Modi emphasized that every BJP worker should be viewed as a representative of his own commitment, urging dedicated service for public welfare.

The Prime Minister also outlined a forward-looking strategy, asking booth-level workers to develop comprehensive five-year plans for their respective areas. He underscored the necessity for workers to be thoroughly knowledgeable about central government schemes across various sectors and how these initiatives benefit citizens nationwide.

To enhance voter communication, Modi suggested that workers prepare and utilize short videos to visually demonstrate the potential impact of an NDA government, effectively explaining why and how the alliance could bring about positive change.

Critique of Kerala's Political Landscape

Modi expressed strong criticism of Kerala's traditional political forces, stating that people in the state have grown weary of both the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF). He pointed to the BJP's victory in the Thiruvananthapuram corporation election as a transformative moment that disrupted the established political order.

"Earlier, UDF and LDF were confident of seizing power alternatively, irrespective of whatever corruption and misgovernance they do while in power. Now, there is another option," Modi asserted. He concluded by declaring that the electorate is not merely prepared for a new government but is actively seeking a completely new political system, signaling a profound shift in Kerala's political dynamics.
