Prayagraj Joins Nation in Grand Republic Day Celebrations

To commemorate the 77th Republic Day, government organizations, educational institutions, and schools across the Sangam city of Prayagraj participated enthusiastically in nationwide celebrations by organizing vibrant cultural programs and various events at their respective premises.

Deputy Chief Minister Leads Official Ceremonies

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya presided over the main Republic Day function at Police Lines, where he unfurled the National Flag on Monday and took the salute of the ceremonial parade. During the event, Maurya administered the pledge of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution to all attendees and presented the prestigious Ati Utkrisht Seva Medal to eleven distinguished officers and employees serving in Prayagraj.

While paying heartfelt tributes to the freedom fighters who sacrificed for India's independence, Maurya highlighted the nation's remarkable progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strong leadership. He emphasized that India has now emerged as the world's fourth-largest economy, achieving unprecedented milestones while maintaining a firm stance against terrorism.

Judicial and Legal Community Participation

The legal fraternity of Prayagraj actively participated in Republic Day observances. Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Arun Bhansali, hoisted the national flag on the front lawn of the High Court in the presence of all judges, registry officers, and other dignitaries. Simultaneously, Advocate General Ajay Kumar Misra conducted flag-hoisting ceremonies at his office located on Kanpur Road.

At the Allahabad High Court Bar Association (HCBA), President Rakesh Pandey led the celebrations with all office-bearers, including Secretary Akhilesh Kumar Sharma, in attendance. A substantial gathering of lawyers participated in this solemn occasion, demonstrating the legal community's patriotic spirit.

Administrative and Educational Institutions Celebrate

Divisional Commissioner Soumya Agrawal marked Republic Day at the Commissioner's office, where she administered the constitutional pledge to officers and employees. In her address, Agrawal urged everyone to transcend religious and caste differences while performing their duties with utmost honesty, thereby contributing significantly to both national and state development.

At the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), Chairman Sanjay Shrinet conducted the constitutional pledge ceremony, with commission members, officers, and employees offering floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. The chairman also inaugurated two newly constructed residential buildings—Saket and Baikunth—within the campus and distributed house keys to Group D employees and some needy Group C staff members.

Railway and University Celebrations

The North Central Railway (NCR) headquarters witnessed General Manager Naresh Pal Singh inspecting the ceremonial parade, followed by colorful cultural programs that added festive spirit to the occasion. At Allahabad University (AU), Vice-Chancellor Prof Sangita Srivastava unfurled the national flag and delivered an inspiring address, noting that AU has historically served as a nurturing ground for freedom struggle heroes and continues to be a breeding ground for innovative ideas.

Throughout Prayagraj, the 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, reflecting the city's deep-rooted patriotism and commitment to constitutional values. Various institutions organized programs that highlighted India's cultural diversity while reinforcing the importance of national unity and progress.
